Fasting Muscle

Happy hump day homies and welcome to my blog one more time! I’m so very thankful for all of the people who take the time to read and follow along this journey with me. The middle of the week crept up on me this time because I’ve been so deep in research and studying that I lost track of my days.lol. I hope you all got some coffee or tea or even a nice glass of wine because it’s about to go down!

Yesterday was a feast day so we made some delicious KFC/KETO version original recipe chicken and it was amazing, although I should have added more pork rinds it was my first attempt so I will have time to tweak it later on! Then, we made my fiance’s bomb low carb chili and lemon bars for dessert. When I say these lemon bars are amazingly delicious I am not kidding around I was completely surprised because of anything with almond flour taste so damn dry to me, however, this recipe was easy and delicious so you already know I’m going to use this one whenever I need to indulge responsibly! I’m telling yall I found me a winner with this new Erythritol I bought on Amazon and if it doesn’t hinder my fat loss it will be my sweetener of choice from here on out! It does have a cooling taste to it but I found when you bake with it that taste goes away, especially when making a crust! I’m giving it a month to see how my fat loss goes while consuming this alternative so I’ll get back with the results but so far I have checked my glucose levels and found that it doesn’t raise my insulin at all! As you know I have been eating off of that taco bake I made earlier in the week so we are really enjoying this meal prepping routine! I still need to find a nice topping for these Lemon bars because while the cool whip was good it wasn’t great so I may try halo top next time I eat to see if ice cream works better! Yum, Yum and more damn Yum.lol

Sadly I didn’t make it to the gym yesterday like I planned and I will admit that every time I change how I fast it takes a moment to get back into my lifting routine. I’m not particularly sure why but it has been a struggle to go lift lately, walking, on the other hand, has been my preferred workout lately and I am certainly building my stamina in that area! The best routine for me is at least 4 times a week lifting but I have been doing more like 2 at the most! Truth is it makes little sense why I can’t do it all considering I don’t have to work right now and the kids are away for a month, so I need to catch back up for real because I can’t use having more time to myself as an excuse not to work out harder, DUH!

Screenshot_20180613-121620.jpg

I’ve decided to up my calories on my feasting days because I have been getting super hungry on my fasting days which is weird because typically hunger comes in waves and I know how it works for me. Usually, I get a huge wave of hunger 3 hours after I feast and then another around the 24 hour mark, I mean I can set my watch by that but lately I have been hungry for longer periods of time even though I am doing the same thing which is drinking tons of water, a couple cups of coffee and if hunger gets worse a hot cup of chicken broth. It’s been fairly easy to do this routine but this week I have been hungry from the 24hr mark on and it doesn’t stop until I go to bed.lol. I did a little research and what I found was not getting enough calories on feast days just makes fasting days seem like an uphill battle and counterproductive, see I’m not trying to starve myself I’m trying to give my digestive system a break and allow my body to utilize stored fat to power my body! This is a lifestyle for me and while I will surely adapt different fasting protocols from time to time, my intent is never to be walking around hungry all the time! I know that’s just not sustainable for the long haul and ya boi is not trying to go backward. My next bit of research with be looking into supplements that may give me a boost to get my workouts in so that I can burn more stored fat on my fasting days.

That’s it for me today, I plan on hitting the gym since I am fasting today and tomorrow get a nice long walk in unless something comes up. I’m a routine type person so I really need to get my flow in the gym back and that’s my focus this week now that my sleep and eating seem to be on point! Persistence over perfection and consistency over intensity all day everyday ya heard me? Have a fantastic rest of the week and I will be back soon, as usual, I am always ready and willing for anyone who needs help or an ear to listen to their journey, the struggle is real but so is our power and together we will get there!

Yummy

Screenshot_20180611-111240.jpg

It’s Monday morning again and you all know what that means, it’s time to do it again once again! Time to dust yourself off from the weekend and head into a new week with vigor and excitement! You get another chance at chasing your dreams and being of service to others. So, let’s get into it really quick so you can get on with your week!

This morning was the first walk of the week and I did it on a day that was made for walking, I mean I really couldn’t have asked for better conditions this morning! The temp was around 68 degrees and clear as soon as I stepped out the Tahoe to start along my path, several joggers and walker were already getting to it and I just put my wireless headphones in and followed suit.lol. I’m getting faster and faster at the route I’m doing now and I think in a week or so I’ll be ready to add on and go further but for now, I’m just trying to stay consistent and focused! Tomorrow I will be lifting, working out my back and biceps. My routine is just to rotate between walking and the gym so hopefully, it will work out to a well-balanced workout and help my endurance raise higher. It’s awesome because I have finally been able to get up at 3 or 3:30 in the morning to lift weights and kickstart my day early! I’ve found that cardio is harder for me than lifting so I should focus on doing it more than strength training until I get more comfortable with the walks and everything.

20180610_100427.jpg20180610_103533.jpg20180610_103642.jpg20180610_103639.jpg

The diet has been phenomenal and delicious as well because I have been meal prepping casseroles so that when I feast I can just grab it and go! Of course, you know me, they have to be easy and delicious and I’m in there even if it means taking more time to make them from scratch. Last week as you all saw I made chili dog cheeseburger casserole and it was super amazing and lasted the whole week, well this week I made taco bake using delicious pork rinds as the tortillas and my gosh this dish turned out perfect for me! Of course, I’ve included pictures. What I dig about this casserole is that it has 5 carbs a serving and I’m talking total carbs not net! This is perfect for keto, contains a great number of healthy fats and of course plenty of protein to boot! I have leftover cauliflower soup as well and some low carb chili my girl made, so I’ll be eating great this week! Although I won’t be eating today because I’m still doing my 3 days of 42-hour fasting and today is a fasting day, but I will be able to break my fast tomorrow morning around this time. My body continues to amaze me with how much it performs for me even after years of giving it horrible food and little to no time to cleanse my system. My whole body feels so much better than before and I credit a large part of that to I.F. and all the support and love I get from the people around me!

Screenshot_20180611-111329.jpg

Since I have been focusing on sleep more I’ve been very pleased with how rested and refreshed I have been felling. Even on days, I don’t get the right amount of sleep I have noticed that the quality of my rest has been very good! Everything hasn’t been perfect but I am truly enjoying the direction my health is going in and I’m excited to see my improvement from day to day! Please have an amazing day and give yourself the love and support you deserve, be kind and gentle and unjudgemental of yourself and know that you are precious and worthy of all that you have achieved and more! Love you all!

519!

Here we go again another Magic and fantastic Monday is upon us all. I hope all of you had an amazing weekend as I did! It was an amazing weekend but laid back enough to truly enjoy the blessings.lol. There is nothing better in life than celebrating other’s and Mother’s day was a great chance to do that! Hopefully, you all enjoyed yourselves and exercised cautious recklessness this past weekend.lol.

Screenshot_20180514-141453.jpg

Sunday was Mother’s day so we had a little celebration to show the mom of the house how wonderful she is. Then we made sure all the moms in our lives got some love as well! I made a point to hit the gym hard Saturday night because I knew we had some birthdays and celebrations going on. I focused on doing a heavy back exercise and then some nice steady state cardio before leaving. The jury is in and the verdict is I love lifting heavier than normal and I can truly feel the difference the next day after! I made a promise that I would get a certain amount of gym time in and I was able to do just that! I’m super happy with the work I put in this week which leads to my good news…

Screenshot_20180514-141321.jpg

I’m back down to 519 which isn’t the lowest I’ve been but it’s the trend that matters and I’m back on track and headed down instead of up.lol. I’m very excited about my turn around and I truly owe it all to God and the changing of my last meal of the day to early in the afternoon! It really has made all the difference and I feel amazing! You know me I wanted to get 515 but hey I’ll take the loss as long as it’s going in that direction!

Screenshot_20180514-141551.jpg

My diet has still been mostly Carnivore Keto but this week I will be adding back more of those fresh green smoothies to give my body those essential green leafy nutrients I feel we all need. After that, you guessed it, I’m going right back to more Carnivore because the way I feel is simply amazing right now and I’m all about what makes me feel the best! I really did have a lot of carbs do to the wine tasting this week so that won’t be an issue this week, I’m sure all the wine will be gone by tonight. Ha Ha! We have certainly been tipping it up lately but I can’t complain it’s been marvelous!

That’s it for today it’s short and sweet but I’m still here if anyone needs anything!

Get To Grindin’

Screenshot_20180512-100419.jpg

Well look what day it is today, it’s finally Saturday! The sun is bright, the birds outside got their acts together and have agreed to celebrate this glorious morning with us! We are blessed to see another weekend, another day for that matter, so sit back relax and let’s chat a few about what’s goin’ down!

20180511_232559.jpg

I am Change! Last night because of schedule I had to hit the gym later than usual and I mean it was 11 pm as I walked in the door! We all have scheduling issues so we just have to work around them the best we can and last night was one of those times! What was even crazier is I was still in a rush because I had to pick up my fiance’ so I hit the weights running.lol. Normally, I never lift triceps and biceps together but since my workout wasn’t heavy I decided to change it up and I must say it was really worth it! My muscles were absolutely screaming at me, my skin was raining sweat and I was winded for real! Great workout! My cardio got a boost because I did some walking and exercise in front of the big screen and then I went for a cool and relaxing walk. The Veteran’s Park here in Elizabethtown is truly a beautiful place to take a stroll and the monuments surrounding give you a true sense of pride about the sacrifice that so many have made for us all. Don’t worry homies you know I’m going to include pictures, it was awesome to do some picture taking all in the name of fitness! Ya boi hit his step goal and got more than an hour of activity on my tracker and that’s without the gym visit last night!

I must tell you if you are doing fasting and your schedule allows it then you should try eating your last meal at 2:30 in the afternoon! Not only does it allow me to break my 18 hours fast in time to enjoy my morning coffee but it makes your body feel super lean in the a.m! Now last night I can’t front I was super hungry but that was my fault because I didn’t space my 2 meals out enough, plus I only eat 2 meals and not 3 like most people. Y’all already know I have so much more weight to lose so 18-hour fasting helps fat loss in a way nothing else ever has in my opinion! Yesterday I broke my fast with good ole turkey bacon with melted cheese and my customary large cup of coffee. I basically had a zero carb breakfast and that really helps to get the day started even though I know most have their carbs really early I prefer this route. O.K now I know I eat a lot of baked chicken and if there’s ever an outbreak I’m probably going to be ground zero for those infected because I love it but I made butter baked parmesan chicken and my gosh I found one with this recipe!  I was just playing around and decided to mix some grated parmesan with my melted butter and I drizzled that buttery mix over my chicken and let it coat in the oven and it came out so fire! I mean straight blazing!

Screenshot_20180512-100602.jpg

A word about sleep! One of my goals lately has been to really focus on my sleep and get a certain amount no matter what. My fasting time has really helped and I have noticed that my body has really responded and I feel a lot better. For my bigger folks out there sleep is so very important to our overall health because we tend to overlook it but I’m telling you it makes all the difference in the world. Not just getting great sleep but also having a set time to hit the sheets, your body will thank you I’m telling you!

I can’t leave without saying thank you so much to those of you who bought my new flash fiction novel! I’m truly blessed to have people around like yourselves that help me reach my true potential! Marcus London: Crime type 1 is an amazing story with a hero who has type 1 diabetes and it brings tears to my eyes to bring awareness and support this movement. My son Marcus who is the inspiration for the series is my hero and the strongest person I have ever been around so again thank you so much! I’m so damn humbled by all of you! Marcus London: Crime type 1

The Pasta that Keeps On Giving!

Screenshot_20180302-075306.jpg

Well good morning everyone and welcome to Friday! Honestly, has a day of the week ever sounded so damn good?lol. I’m a little tired this morning because I had a burst of energy and I was laying in bed with too much on my mind and feeling like I could run a marathon! At first, I was going to just go ahead and hit the gym but my mind was not having it! I just tried and tried to fall off and of course, I did right before I had to get up. Why is that always the way with sleep.lmao? I’m very proud to say I did get a few hours of sleep so I’m good!

Today I’m back at it in the gym with back and biceps and a new lower body workout I’m excited about! Typically, I only work my lower body doing cardio or the pool so I’m happy to start doing some stretching and leg routine to my program! To begin I’ll do some squats and lunges with no weights for a few and then start doing some weights and eventually have an entire day for legs and so on. Also, I think it’s time that I start doing a little walking around in the parks and stuff. There are several beautiful parks in my area and as the weather gets better I need to get my lower body moving and more flexible! March is going to be an amazing month!

The diet was on point and you all know I had those noodles and they were a total win for me. Not only are they delicious but they have virtually no calories and no carbs! The best thing about them, they made me super full and I was unable to eat anything after that meal last night and that left me with a wonderful caloric deficit! I don’t really track calories but I have a ceiling that I try not to go over which is about 2500. I’ll post a picture of my calories for yesterday they were a lot lower than normal! I broke my fast yesterday with that Keto meal coffee and turkey bacon which I think will start being my mainstay! my mom would be proud this morning I’m drinking plain black coffee and I’m actually getting used to it! It’s a major step in my weight loss journey that I no longer put sugar in my coffee, I’ll take the small victories as well as the big ones ya know!

Screenshot_20180302-075029.jpg

It’s a new dawn, a new day and you all have an opportunity to be as great as you want! I believe that the beginning of every month brings the chance for change. Maybe everything is going fabulously in your life and you just want to try something different or maybe you want to help someone do something you know means the world to them! Finally, maybe you’re like me and you want to do all you can to change the way you handle the things in your life you struggle with and turn them into something positive it really doesn’t matter what it is as! What’s important is that you feel satisfied with the life you have and empowered to change the things that you struggle with. I will leave you with this; The decision to change is a lonely one because it’s all up to you and only you, however, the road to change is paved with arms that are just begging to pull you up and push you along the way to success! It’s all about you!

Miracle Noodles

20180301_153132.png

Today is the first day of March and that’s fantastic! I have always loved March and the weather changes that will be coming soon! Even though it’s raining really hard today I know that it is supposed to clear up and be another beautiful day full of sun! The best thing about today is my miracle noodles should be coming in. If you haven’t heard about these so-called miracle noodles I’ll leave a picture below. After I have them tonight you all know I’ll let you know if they are any good.

Just got back from the gym and the chest workout was fantastic! I felt a lot better doing my fasted lifting today than I felt yesterday and I think it had to do with sleep. I slept amazing last night and because of that, I think my body responded very well to lifting on an empty stomach! I’ll definitely see if it helped when I weigh in on Monday. Today was my 3rd lift of the week so all I need is 1 more and I’m at my goal for the week. I do need to pick it up on the cardio end of things because I have only done 1 cardio day so far. We are going swimming tonight so that’s 2 and then I’ll try to double up tomorrow to get right again. I would just do cardio when I lift but the cardio machines are absolutely covered when I lift during the day. There is a huge population of senior citizens at my gym and they work out a ton during the day. Don’t get me wrong I think that’s fabulous and I pray that I am able to live as long and be as active as some of these folks. Since the cardio machines are mostly taken I just swim at night or come back and do the elliptical. I’m giving myself 2 more weeks with my current routine and then I’ll be going up in weight and adding a few more exercises in. That will be cool!

20180301_134805.jpg

As I mentioned before I will be making those miracle noodles I ordered from Amazon tonight. While I type this I have them marinating in a delicious sauce so that I can add 2 pieces of chopped up chicken thighs, some sesame seeds and probably some spinach. I’m not too sure yet because I may make a green smoothie in case my noodles taste gross.lol. My fast was broken today with a giant cup of keto meal and coffee a few pieces of turkey bacon and a piece of chicken from the other night. Not only was it delicious but I can honestly say that it certainly filled me up! I’m still trying to figure out if I want to fast 18 hours every day or do 16:8 but as of now, I’m able to fast for 18 hours pretty easily. Just a little tip, If you are eating Keto you will get tired of the same 2 or 3 meals every now and again so it’s very important to keep playing around with different meals that will add variety to your diet. I know from experience that boredom leads to binging because you slip and have just one bad thing and it’s like a chain reaction and before you know it you’ve gained like 5 pounds.lol. Now if you don’t have an addiction to food like myself than nevermind but for me, I know that if I don’t mix it up there will be a problem.lol.

I pray that today was good for you and tonight even better! Thank you so very much for reading and I appreciate you all as usual. By the way, I will have updates on the plants I’m growing next week I promise! See Ya!

V-Day

Screenshot_20180214-074325.jpg

Good morning everyone it’s Wednesday and I would like to say happy valentines day to all who follow the tradition! I hope this morning finds you getting spoiled with all sorts of flowers and candy or other things that put a smile on your face! I myself am not big on valentines day but I will say this, any opportunity I get to do something awesome for my girl I try to take advantage of for sure! If you didn’t get anything special today or don’t have anyone to celebrate with than I wish you a big box of candy and your favorite stuffed animal today.lol.

Screenshot_20180214-075039.jpg

I took yesterday off from working out but it wasn’t a scheduled day off. I just wasn’t feeling the gym yesterday so I shut it down and counted it as a day off. I will be attending both workout sessions today both lifting and swimming! I had to catch up on sleep yesterday and it seemed no matter how much I rested I still needed more sleep! I took 2 naps and I still could have slept more, damn I’m getting old haha! For some reason when we go swimming late at night I have trouble going to sleep. I find it weird because my body is absolutely ready for rest but my mind and soul are wide awake and I lay there just gazing into darkness! This doesn’t seem to bother my fiance’ at all because as soon as her head hits the pillow from the pool it’s a wrap! Then again she could sleep during an airshow with no earplugs while on her jammies were on fire for real! Anyway, I’ll figure this out and try to get more rest after the water workouts!

I’ve noticed a trend that since I have been tracking my calories I have been eating a little more. I’m not eating bad foods at all but I seem to be consuming bigger portions of late. The fact that I am working out more may play a part in it but it seems like I am extra hungry lately! I’ve been concentrating on getting in my healthy fats more often which usually makes me less hungry so I’m puzzled as to why I’m closer to my calories than normal. Usually, I end the week with a substantial calorie deficit but this week so far it’s fairly small. Oh well, I guess this means I just have to keep playing around with it and see what works for me.

Screenshot_20180214-074435.jpg

I have to tell you all that the scale bug has caught me! Since I have gotten this thing I went from weighing in once a month to weighing once a week to wanting to weigh every day! The way I see it as long as I remember that weight fluctuations happen all the time than I should be good. typically I don’t have a weight goal I am shooting for just want to lose a certain amount of fat a month! Like about 20 pounds a month would be great! I’m an obese guy and I could have this whole weight thing under control by this time next year.lol. The cool thing is I kinda like seeing how my body reacts to certain things that I have been doing. Did you all know that when someone says that you will be heavier because your lifting weights it’s actually not true? According to several studies I’ve been researching even though muscle weighs more than fat it also burns fat! Since the amount of time for the exchange is slow acting there is little evidence that supports the scale being higher because of your lifting. I was blown away because I was told by trainers that you will gain several pounds on the scale once you start lifting weights, then it will start burning the fat and the scale will go down. I just thought that was very interesting research!

Screenshot_20180214-074713.jpg

Like I wrote before I really feel like I am becoming obsessed with getting healthier. Not to the point that I’m allowing unrealistic expectation onto myself but obsessed indeed. It’s fun finding out that I have this hunger inside me that doesn’t just need cheeseburgers to fuel it. In my core, I can feel myself listening and understanding my body more than ever before! I’ve vowed to treat it better and love it more and more each day!

Our Fear Is Not………

Man, I must admit that it has been a really long while since I have had this happen! It is now 1:43 a.m. here in the great state of Kentucky and I can’t sleep to save a baby’s butt! my sleep has been absolutely superb lately so I guess I can’t complain too much. The funny thing is I’m not thinking about anything too much or worried about anything in particular. I’m not overly excited about anything either so it’s baffling that despite my best efforts I’m up and at em’! Oh well, there must be a reason for this so I’m just going to roll with it. Hell, I really don’t have a choice in the matter anyway so I figured I would make the most of this time!

Screenshot_20180202-023039.jpg

Thursday’s workout was fantastic and despite the gym being rather busy I blew thru my workout and had plenty of energy to run over to Rite-aid and grab some body wash! I mean I can’t be stinking up the house just because I’m hitting the gym hard so I stocked up with some leftover bonus cash I accumulated couponing last weekend.Sorry I’m getting off topic but I mean did I mention it’s damn near 2 in the morning? lol. Back and biceps are really starting to get more doable now so I think I’ll be upping my weight a few pounds. I’m still sore but it’s not lasting as long and I know in my chest I can go up without hurting myself. I do however need to get a stretching routine because I absolutely never stretch and as the weight increases I could injure myself if I don’t develop a stretching regiment! The cardio had to be done at home because all the machines were pretty busy but it’s all good because I will be starting swimming this weekend so I’ll get the majority of my cardio doing that. I can’t wait to swim and even though I’m a little nervous because it’s been awhile I know I just need to start!

Screenshot_20180202-023334.jpg

So yesterday was the first day that I was actually close to eating 3k calories! I started off with a delicious bulletproof coffee. Since I know add MCT oil it’s boosted my calories and healthy fat macros. So far I can’t really say that I have more energy since using the oil but I’m hoping it isn’t the reason for tonight’s insomnia! Damn That!!! For lunch, I finished off the rest of the pork chops I made the other night along with a huge salad bowl. I think I had a cup of pistachios as well so I got plenty of healthy fats. Dinner saw me eating a bag of sunflower seeds, some little smokies sausage and a bowl of soup. Not just any soup mind you but Campbells Philly cheese steak soup! I highly recommend this soup! Now you will take a hit on the carbs(30) but I promise you it is truly hearty and delicious. If you don’t want as many carbs then you can eat half the can but I warn you that may not be possible when you taste that bad boy! The eating window ended with me eating more pistachios because they are yummy. Now for those of you who do Keto you probably shouldn’t eat as many nuts as I had tonight. My carb intake was about 111g which is way to high for the average person. Hell, to tell you the truth it’s too high for me but I’m a bigger man and my carb intake can be a little higher every now and then. Needless to say, I will certainly not be eating that many carbs again for a long while. Plus you have to understand, I don’t do the whole net carb thing by subtracting fiber, so I may have not consumed as much as someone who does subtract fiber. Finally all my beverages today were water or coffee and maybe one Powerade zero. Since doing keto I can honestly say that I simply don’t crave soda or juice the way I did in the past, thank god!

It is now February and we all get a new month to get things in line! Although most people make resolutions that start in January it is my belief that the most important month is February! The reason being is that most people decide to either sink or swim this month. If you’re not serious about changing whatever it is you set out to change then this is the month that those resolutions drift away from your radar! Change takes time and dedication but I believe the most important of all is it takes consistency! I’ll take a consistent lifestyle change that minimal over a fast change that has a short existence any day of the week. You can conqueror this February! It’s time to re-up and reaffirm the direction you are taking your life! If you stay consistent and you get past February statistics tell us you have a 90 percent chance of success. That makes sense right because we all know what we want and what we have to do to get there! I believe we all have what it takes to live the life that we choose! We all have the power to manufacture the greatest version of ourselves so why not now? Why not recommit to those resolutions and goals you sat down and composed? It’s your life, it only requires that you live it! You can do it! You were built for greatness beyond your wildest expectations! I’ll see you all when we win! Have a fabulous weekend! Oh and before you go…

Just a little reminder if you need help or an accountability partner I’m available. It is fact that I would not have gotten this far without all the help and support I have received from others and I feel duty bound to pass on the blessing! Facebook page for support and info

Grace

Happy Saturday everyone I hope this post finds everyone in good health and spirits! Ya boi got to sleep in today and wake up fresh and rested! The snow is melting as the warmer temperatures are taking over so it seems like things are getting back to normal!

I hit the gym Thursday and worked chest and triceps along with my customary 30-minute cardio session! The routine is starting to come together nicely. I still need to start a leg routine so that I can hurt like everyone else I see walking around like they are about to fall over.lol. The gym has been super busy for the last couple of times I have gone so I am still working on which times are the best for me. My goal is 4 times a week but in order to get to the gym that much I need to workout a couple of times during the day, so I’m still trying to figure it out! My music playlist has been on fire and the workouts are really getting to be fun because the music just transforms me into another world while I’m working out!

My diet has been going bananas lately! I’ve been trying all kinds of keto recipes to add to the routine and they are not all winners but boy is it fun to see what my mind wants to do! I came up with my version of keto pigs n a blanket and it was a total failure. Don’t get me wrong they tasted amazing but I had a little issue with my dough and I didn’t let it cool on parchment paper so I was scrapping dough off of stuff and it just wasn’t so hot.lol, It was a lot of fun but I ended up making this big ass pig pocket thing that has no kinda resemblance to a damn blanket but the family ate it all up so at least it wasn’t in vain. My two meals have been staying keto and since I’m no longer counting calories I find it so much easier to just make what I love to eat and listen to my body! On the intermittent fasting front, I have been doing great! I been breaking my fast at about 2 p.m every day or so and rotating my fasting windows up and down and it’s really starting to be fun. The biggest challenge for me lately is water intake. For some strange reason, I have not been very thirsty lately and that’s just not like me! Oh well, I’ll figure it out I guess!

If you have nothing to feel thankful for then please think about how many people have to be dealing with all this extreme weather while being homeless! I just can’t imagine how people have the strength to deal with all of life’s challenges and on top of it all not have an idea where their next meal or their roof will be from day to day. I pray to the lord above that I am blessed to have all that I have and the amazing people he has placed in my life! I truly appreciate each and every person that has crossed my path! My blessing is truly overflowing and I am humbled by his grace! Have a magnificent day everyone!

Making Progress

It’s hump day yall and it’s great to be back blogging after a few days off! I have just been chilling and trying to deal with this cold weather system we have had blow thru the southeast the last week or so. Kids are still not in school because of the snow accumulation and freezing rain here in Kentucky but it looks like a safe bet they will have school tomorrow! Let’s hope! I can’t front, I’m loving the snow and all it brings minus the accidents and all. I love a good winter wonderland!

I haven’t been to the gym this week but I have been getting plenty of sleep this week and I feel amazing! I typically don’t have a problem sleeping but I know I don’t get anywhere near the recommended amount of minimal sleep per night! It’s been like 8 or 9 hours a night and I’ll admit it really does help; definitely feeling refreshed. As you know the other day I was running from pizza, but today I can honestly say that I have been eating pretty good and I have intermittently fasted every day for the last 10 days in a row so I’m getting a fine handle on that front! The kitchen was bare yesterday and we had zero produce but I went and grabbed some at Krogers last night and stocked up so I’m good to go this morning! I’m thinking of making a batch of keto brownies today that I’m really excited about because I have never made any that weren’t made the old fashion way with lots of sugar and chocolate! If it turns out good or bad you all know that I will post it on my next blog! While I won’t be I.F. today I will be keeping it keto as normal with a monster salad and some B.P.C! Then I’ll focus on the deserts of brownies and maybe some keto shortcake for my second meal, I’ll figure it out.lol

This past week I have had some mental battles with myself about fat loss. It seems like there are days when it doesn’t feel like I’m losing fast enough! My mind knows it’s all a process but the spoiled man in me wants all the results now, you know the perfect body overnight.ha ha ha. The same mind that pushes me to get up when I fall and to stay positive is the same mind that manufactures my doubts. It’s funny how that works but I know it happens to all of us. Sometimes you have to battle with your own team(mind) ain’t that a bitch! Usually, when this happens I watch a movie or I check to see how far I have come, anything to get my head right! This process isn’t always easy but it’s definitely apart of the journey and all I can say is we just have days we have to fight and fight no matter what!

Great news homies since November 11th till now I have lost another 3 inches on my waist! I feel really great about this because I have so much to lose and it helps to see progress, especially since I don’t have my scale in from Amazon yet. O.k I know we shouldn’t be obsessed with weight but I have to at least know that I’m making progress on days I feel like I’m not, so I had to order one.lol. Did I mention I’m excited about the measurements? I lost size in my chest and other areas as well but my waist is my biggest area of concern for now so I’m super focused on my midsection! I just measured in the middle of making this post because I’m supposed to do it monthly and it totally slipped my mind. With this new planner, it’s hard not to write everything down because it’s staring at me every day, all day.lol

Enjoy your hump day and be safe on those crazy streets!
