Love Your Damn Self Homie!


Well, good morning and happy Friday to everyone! it’s the last day of the work week and all of you have been pushing yourselves very hard and doing all you can! I for one am very proud of you for all that you have been doing. Lately, I have been realizing that all the things people do that I will never see are so important and I know you don’t always get the credit for your greatness so this is me saying: YOU ARE APPRECIATED FOR ALL THAT YOU DO!


Today is the last day for me in the gym this week as far as lifting goes. I have been working my butt off this week and I feel like I can honestly say I found a great schedule for myself. It feels amazing to be in a rhythm with my body and my workouts! I’m doing my back/biceps today and then I’ll be doing some stretching to help with my weak There is no doubt what so ever that I will be doing a fasted workout today, they just feel better to me and the mental game is the most important. If I think it’s working then I will push harder and be more involved and that’s the win-win! The gym has really been amazing for me these last few months and I’m very thankful to have a place that I go that is just for me. The idea that I am going somewhere that will make me better physically and push myself to get better really makes me feel great about myself and that’s all that really matters. The only way to be of service and to help others is to be in love with yourself so that you can share that love with others!


The diet has been going great and my macros have been very good this week! I just wanted to talk about something that has really changed my life. If I have learned anything it’s that the diet and how I eat really makes the whole thing possible. The truth of all of this is in today’s society we all workout more now than we did generations before and yet obesity is more rampant than ever before. The answer is in the foods we eat and the way we treat ourselves away from the gym! Don’t leave your training in the gym or at the park because the bulk of the change comes in the diet! Now I realize this isn’t revolutionary stuff I am writing but if you sit on that for a minute it really will make you change your perspective! There has never been a workout created that will do more for you than rest, nutrition and the study of your own body! You really have to fall in love with learning about your body and what makes it perform at it’s best. If you have problems truly loving yourselves the best place to start is not a relationship or a drink. You can prove to yourself how much you love you by how well you spend time feeding your body positive thoughts and proper nutrition.


Notice I didn’t say give your body the right nutrients, I said the proper nutrients for you! The best way for you to eat and treat your body is all up to you and what works best for what you are trying to achieve. It’s funny that we will go to a job and work our butts off for someone else’s dream then go home and give all we have to our kids only to treat ourselves as if we don’t have things we need to achieve for ourselves. It’s absolutely your responsibility to make the decision to achieve as much for your health as you possibly can. I’m not saying you have to be a world-class Olympian or anything, all I’m trying to say is if you have a direction you want your body to go in then damn it go! Spend some time and love the machine you spend all your life in and learn to give it what it needs to be who and what you want to be. Then you have a love that no one can take away from you because they didn’t give it to you, you did, you feel me?


Please be kind to yourself this weekend and do something fun that you enjoy and bring that beautiful smile with you. You have something others around you need and that’s your presence! Be there, give a damn and appreciate your damn self and that’snot a

Saturday morning is here and I’m ready for it! Today I wish all of you fun and enjoyment, if not that then relaxation and good coffee! Just as long as you are all having a great day and keeping healthy! Can you believe it’s the 27th already? I mean January was on crack this year for!



First thing this morning I hit the gym and did my fourth workout of the week! So goal accomplished! Back and biceps continue to give me problems but I’m getting a lot stronger. Today I did my 30 minutes of cardio after the lifting and I think it really mad a difference. I was able to push my muscles more because they weren’t already tired after cardio. Honestly, I can’t wait to swim next week. The pool looks clean and gently when I see it from my weights when lifting. Normally I try to get my workout done in about an hour but this mornings workout went a little over because I had time before the family got up. It’s really starting to feel like habit even though I really had to yell at myself to get my big ass out of bed this morning!




So I have news about my diet. Surprise everyone, I think I finally figured out how to do everything so that I can eat at the same times no matter what! My eating window will be from 2:30 to 6:30 no matter what I’m doing intermittent fasting wise or not. Of course, you all know I will be keeping it as keto as possible with my little guilty pleasures sprinkled in to keep me satisfied! Based on my size and height I’m supposed to eat 4k calories a day! Are you kidding me? There’s no way in hell I’m eating that much food! My doctor told me that I shouldn’t be in too big of a caloric deficit and that 2500 calories for someone my size is too strict a deficit. He does have some merit but still, if I’m eating in a 4-hour window there is no way I can consume that many calories. Funny thing is he both loves keto and likes the idea of me intermittent fasting. Oh and keep in mind that 4k is a deficit! A deficit in my calories from what I should be eating! That’s enough food for 4 people and my doctor was like hey man you got 4 people inside you. He didn’t say that of course but we both laughed because we both knew it was damn near true.lmao! I can’t front I absolutely love my doctor! We reached a compromise and I think what we came up with is going to work just fine. I’ll eat about 2500 to 3k calories depending on my hunger and I promised to make sure those extra calories were consumed at least 3 times a week. Fair enough!


Gotta do some traveling around today and get some couponing in because we are low on laundry detergent and toilet paper. I’m a couponing fool when I need to be and there are some great deals to be had on paper products and cleaners. I transferred my lettuce over to my little ghetto hydroponic setup and I love it! I’m very excited to see if this method will work for me like it has for so many others I’ve seen! Even if it doesn’t it’s really cool to have a project that I enjoy and that takes my mind off of eating or going to the gym.Feel free to tell me what you think, you all know I love feedback! Back To Basics




It’s on today because I finally got some sleep. It wasn’t looking too good at first because of the college national championship game last night had me up a little later than I planned but the game was certainly worth it. After Alabama’s freshman backup threw a game-winning touchdown in overtime I was too pumped to go to sleep so I headed to the gym. Granted it was after 1 in the morning but hey I was up and the gym is right behind my place so I’ll take it.Once I got home and hit the bed it was lights out and into some of the best damn sleep I have had this year!



Once I made it to the gym I was able to do about 30 minutes of cardio on my favorite elliptical machine. I needed a little more than my usual 20 minutes because as you know I really slacked last week so I did about 10 minutes more with no real discomfort. I’ll probably just start doing 30 on the regular now that I know it feels fine. in the strength training department, I did a chest and triceps circuit workout and that felt amazing. My whole upper body is still shaking but it was a good push! I’m back at it later tonight for back and biceps! Maybe I needed those few days off because my body felt fresh and super responsive the entire workout! Not to mention I was in the midst of a 20 hour fast and you all know how much I really believe in fasted cardio.


The diet, and by that I mean what I ate because I’m not on a diet in the traditional sense, I did pretty well getting back on track. The whole 2 meal thing is back on and that’s the way I want to keep it because it seems to keep my body satisfied, plus with keto, the foods are so low in carbs that I don’t feel bloated or weighted down. I got another great smoothie yesterday which is becoming a daily habit and with the chia seeds more filling. Today when I woke up I got to have one of my large salads with chicken and cheese, simply amazing how easy and delicious this way of eating can be. It helps in my case that I am so damn routine with my tastes because I really think I could have a salad a day for the rest of my life and be just fine with little else. I got issues I’m aware.




I’ve been reading a lot of blogs lately and I am so proud of how many people are doing more to get healthier and happier. I think it’s fantastic that you all have decided to do what makes you happy and help others as well. No matter what I do I always look forward to the next post I read on here because every day someone somewhere inspires me and I’m so very grateful. Lastly, I am happy to report that my seedlings are slowing starting to show in my lettuce cups! I’m so happy and I can’t wait to experiment with different methods to produce my own healthy foods.
