It’s been a few!

Screenshot_20181015-060240.jpg

Good morning everyone and welcome to another fabulous Monday morning! I apologize for my absence of late but I have been working hard to keep my life in focus. I must admit that sometimes I don’t have the passion to write someday’s and that certainly adds to it! The reason I have been away for more than a month is I have been taking time to do some deep work on myself and also we have had some things change recently that I will talk about in this post! I hope and pray you all have been happy and in good spirits while I have been gone. I’m brewing coffee so let’s get this thing going my friends!

Screenshot_20181015-060319.jpg

I canceled my gym membership because I have been finding great ways to work out with my body weight and other forms of exercise like Qigong! I’m really liking the way that Thai chi is helping me breathe better and sleep more soundly at night. Since I’m a novice I haven’t tapped into the full Qi just yet but I’m learning to breathe and use my body in so many different ways than ever before. I also do pushups and a floor routine for my lower body and core. These combined with working my job have really helped to get my muscles and heart pumping and feeling amazing! My morning has been starting off with Qigong for just 10 or so minutes at a time although I have been doing some research into some longer sessions and movements. The meditation and relaxation I have received from this form of training are really starting to make me a believer.

Screenshot_20181015-060402.jpg

You all know I have been keeping it low carb but not full tilt Keto as of late because I have been using this way of eating as a lifestyle and trying to keep my options open. Most days I’m having my green monster smoothie and some baked chicken or some form of protein( I’ll never stop loving chicken! lol) plus I have been adding some healthy fats to them such as chia seeds and MCT oil. It feels great to know that I am continuing to give my body the rich nutrients that work best for me. It’s not always easy but it’s part of my process and I feel stronger and healthier! Lately, I have been having a love affair with sardines and since I don’t eat as much fish as I should this has helped to bring some variety to my plate! I may mix it up and do Carnivore every now and again but my body seems to do better when I mix it up between several low carb options as opposed to simply one way.

Of course, I have been practicing my fasting on a regular basis and I seem to be having little problem going long stretches fasted. This week I am doing 3 36/42 fast because I have been doing 18/6 all week and now my body will really get the full swing when I do these longer fasts because I have revved up my metabolism! So today I will not eat but simply have black coffee which does break my fast little but I’m o.k as long as I know true fasting doesn’t involve any calories. What’s most important is finding what will allow you to continuously adhere to the plan and coffee with a little heavy cream works for me! So I’ll be fasting Monday, Wednesday and Friday of this week! I love flexing my fasting muscle!

Screenshot_20181015-061001.jpg

This Thursday I will be hitting the road again for another trip to the west coast to see my older kiddos! This time I will be driving to California and Seattle and I’m really excited because my son Nate will be rolling with me on California to Seattle leg of the drive! He is my second oldest and we have always had this connection to driving and riding together since he was little. My oldest son lives in Seattle and I didn’t a chance to see him on my last trip so I am super excited to see him this time along with the rest. My daughter’s 17 birthday is the 17th and although I won’t be there that day I’ll be able to celebrate in person with her this year which is truly a blessing! Of course, I will be stopping by my mom’s house in Las Vegas on the way down so she and I can share some laughs and wine. It promises to be another epic trip and I am truly blessed to have the fun I get to have!

Lastly, I won’t leave you all hanging I have been fluctuating between 485 and 488 for the last month or so which is my lowest weight to date but I’m kinda stuck for now. It happens for me this way I seem to hit these stalls and then I’m just floating around with the same 5 to 10 pounds for a month or 2 and then I get another swoosh and it’s the next groups turn.lol. As long as I’m trending in the right direction I am certainly not complaining at all. I’m not always perfect but I have come a long way and I don’t plan on giving up ever!

That’s all I have for today it was great to be back and I will be checking in hopefully a great deal more soon since I will have a road trip to reflect and get my thoughts down!  As always I love and believe in you all and remember to trust the process after all you designed it!

490

Screenshot_20180901-061047.jpg

O.k so I know this is out of nowhere because I never really blog on Saturdays at all and with it being the first real college football day it’s even more shocking! This morning I had to get up and just share a few things that have been on my mind and then I will let you all get back to enjoying your god given weekend in peace! lol

Screenshot_20180901-061301.jpg

This morning I am officially 490 and that’s just 2 pounds off my lowest ever so I’m really happy about that! Even more incredible is that I have battled with my fat loss stall for so long now it seems like that my patience has truly been strained and taken to the absolute max some days. It’s not the times that are unexplainable when my number doesn’t go down it’s the days and weeks I know I have had a meal that will set me back and I go ahead and do it anyway. It’s really not the one meal but when you are an addict that one meal is always followed by a second and a third of bad choices that send me down a dark path! To be honest, I’m completely aware that my body has a really hard time dealing with grains and sugar, especially together( like when we have Chinese food). Having this knowledge is powerful but I’m learning is just the first step and the real work comes in the moment, those tiny decisions that you make alone when no one is looking that make or break us. 490 feels great because I have no intentions of having any reward for my progress that involves food! 450 is the goal I need to hit before my trip and I’ve set October 13th as the day to hit even though I don’t actually leave till the following week!

Today marks the 5th day on the Carnivore version of Keto and I really am loving the way I feel when I eat this way. I never feel bloated or lethargic after having a meal and I still feel like I’m eating plenty of food but not stuffing myself. The challenge is to remember to add good healthy fats to my meats because I love meat so much by itself that I often forget to add fat for the fullness and health benefit! The best girl in the game made me some hamburger patties and some leftover pork roast for my feast today and I can’t wait! When you’re eating such a limited food menu it is very important to have foods that you truly enjoy and also to have all types of different meats. I’ll be honest it will be tough for me to eat the organ meats out there but I will give it a try if it means staying consistent and on target!

Screenshot_20180901-061225.jpg

I told my girl I was quitting the gym and she didn’t want to hear it! She told me that just because I am doing more bodyweight movements doesn’t mean I should limit the options I have to work out. She said that the gym is good in case you get a little injured or need a change of pace and she made a few other good points about waiting till we move and building my home gym! If I haven’t stressed it enough this fat loss journey cannot be done individually you must have some aces on your team who not only support you but challenge your opinions with their own, I’m very blessed to have her in my life and I don’t ever take a moment for granted because I know everyone doesn’t have a bonafide ride or die like I do!

Screenshot_20180901-061108.jpg

As I type this I’m coming up on the 40th hour of my 42 hour fast, the last one of the week and last night was really rough! It’s not that I was hungry but when you fast sometimes you have a weird energy surge and you just can’t fall asleep. I mean I meditated and watched football and even an episode of Two and a Half Men and still I had problems getting to sleep! The quality of sleep is fantastic but damn it doesn’t take a minute and it always seems to be on Fridays my last 42 hour fast that it is the worst, I’m not sure why! You all have heard me say it before and I’ll keep saying that Keto was the biggest change that I made in my fat loss journey but Fasting is by far the most powerful thing I have ever done when it comes to this journey! It has simple helped me to be mindful and patient and while I’m not perfect by any means, it has taught me that my body needs times of fasting to help heal my body and that’s been the biggest most powerful revelation in this journey! (outside of God that is!) If any of you ever need any advice or help to get into the practice of fasting I am always willing to help, I truly believe it has the power to change the world!

Have a wonderful and relaxing weekend and thank you so very much for reading this!

Screenshot_20180830-170516.jpg

Good afternoon everyone and I know I never wait for this late in the day to write a post but because of our schedule, I have been moving things around. I hope this post finds all of you in great spirits and health because it’s a great time to be alive! It’s already Thursday and you all know that Friday is but a day away so perk up homies and let’s get into the blog post!

So after doing the research, I have decided to give up my gym membership and do my workouts at home! I don’t pay very much a month but I have been doing some compound bodyweight movements the last few days and I feel like I get much more of a workout pushing and pulling around my own weight than the gym for now. My plan was always to have a homemade gym but I was worried that I would get lazy and maybe a little bored and not want to do the workouts but that’s totally opposite of what I have experienced the last few days! Since I’m an obese person my weight has always been a burden on my body but since I have been doing weight-bearing exercises my workout has went to another level! I’m telling yall between serving 3 times a week and doing these workouts on my days off I have really felt a huge difference in my overall health and wellness! It’s a blessing for sure!

As far as the diet goes I am happy to announce that I am doing the Carnivore keto diet plan for a while to see how I like it! I’ve done it before with great results so I’m going to give it a longer try for 30 to 45 days this time with no cheats! Today I made a mean pork roast with garlic butter and it was so damn good I almost ate the whole thing.lol. The carnivore eating plan is all animal proteins only with eggs and cheese sparingly and that’s it! No veggies, no sauces and no seasoning(although I will probably break this one!). It’s been 3 days and I’m already losing and back to fat burning as well as Ketosis! I am currently 493 which is still 6 pounds higher than my lowest weight in June but hey it’s going in the right direction for me! My goal is to get to 450 by the time I go back to Cali at the end of October, now I know that’s a ton of weight fairly fast but I was averaging 20 pounds a month there pretty good this last year for a long stretch so hopefully, I will reach my goal!

Screenshot_20180402-072610.png

I have some really powerful news since I have been doing keto I have lost all swelling in my lower legs, my toenails are fungus free almost and I haven’t had a serious cold or illness! Not to mention the fat loss and better sleep I have gotten since this whole thing has started! I’m not saying low carb is for everyone and certainly fasting is a hard thing to adapt as well but if your willing I would certainly recommend giving them a try, could be life changing! Speaking of the fasting I am still doing 3 42hr fast a week and they have really helped in my process, I never thought that at my size I could go that long with no food and not feel hungry, it’s been heavenly homies! I’ll keep you all posted on how things are going you know me! As always I trust and believe in all of you!

42’s

Screenshot_20180827-075514.jpg

Good morning everyone and welcome to the blog! I am waking up feeling blessed but a little tired because I have been wrestling with bouts of insomnia! The other night I was up all night and into the next day and that’s just not like me so even though it’s not clinical it certainly feels like insomnia.lol. last night I slept pretty well but it’s like I am still catching up and I could use about 4 more hours! As most of you know sometimes you just don’t have that extra sleep time and you got things you need to get done! So enough of my complaining and moaning let’s get this thing off!

Screenshot_20180827-075606.jpg

This past week I worked out 3 or 4 times and while that’s pretty good it’s a failure for me because I planned to workout at least 5 times! I just have to adjust to life so that I keep my commitment to myself and get my work done! I can’t front I was having a hard time getting up early and getting my workout in.lol. Even though my fitness watch says I burned more calories this week I still feel like I could have done more. It”s crazy how I really have set such high goals for myself but in order to get this done my goals have to be obese! This week I have my 3 days of cardio at work and I will try to get 4 lifts in this week as well so hopefully, I will report better progress in this area next time. I need to do a better job of getting up early because I have been going to bed earlier so I should feel rested and ready to go. Working out is a small weapon in the obesity fight but it can be powerful in the mental department, I certainly need that energy in my life!

On the diet front, things are going great and I have finally broken this crazy fat loss stall I was having! It’s really funny because when doing keto your suppose to do moderate protein but any time I up my meat intake I seem to always lose the fat! So lately I have been eating a lot more meat and fish will healthy fats and that seems to be doing the job so thank god!! It’s funny that I have been eating fewer veggies and that has helped me lose a few pounds as well which is strange! I recently bought the green super drink Organfi and so far it’s very good tasting and minty plus it seems to have a ton of healthy greens and turmeric so I’m thinking of relying on this drink for a while and see if it helps. Other than my large salads I’m not a big vegetable guy but I am well aware of the importance of having them and I’m slowly coming around to adding more and more. I’ve been doing the whole smoothie thing to get my greens in however I am aware that it’s important to have fresh whole greens! Hopefully, I can join the whole food plant based diet one day and make that what I do for the majority of my life but right now it’s hard for me to give up my delicious meats! I love the meats!! My plan this week is to make some cauliflower mash potato casserole with bacon and cheese as well as maybe a broccoli or cauliflower soup I’m not sure on the second dish of the week yet. I really need to have an all vegetarian food day in my regular routine.

Screenshot_20180823-083919.png

This week on the fasting front I’m doing 3 42 hour fasts because they have been very instrumental in my current fat loss of late. Since I don’t eat on my work days anyway this fasting regiment seems to be the most effective for me. The only time it’s really difficult is when I get off of work and I’m super tired my body starts thinking it’s hungry and hits me with a really bad craving! My tummy gets all load and demonstrative like I haven’t eaten in 10 days but once I get over that one I’m good because I get to eat the very next morning.lol

That’s the blog folks I wish you a wonderful week and a very inspiring journey today! If anyone needs anything or any support I got you!

Training Day!

Hello everyone and welcome to my late night addition to the blog post.lol. I had a full day and it started fairly early so I figured I better get this in so that I can stay current on my progress! It was a really mild day today in Kentucky after all the storm activity that has been around us for the last 2 days and I thank the lord for that! Anyways, since it’s a lot later than I normally write and too late for me to have coffee I’m drinking from my trusty water bottle as I write this to you all!

Screenshot_20180721-223236.jpg

I just got back from the gym and it’s now 9:38 eastern time, it was a later one because of our changing work schedule but it counts! A win is a win and tonight the gym was super busy because for some reason the gym closes early on Saturday and Sunday nights. It’s cool I guess since it’s 24 hours all the rest of the days but it can throw my schedule off sometimes.lol. My chest feels great and the whole gym while busy worked together really well and we all got our stuff done in time! It’s about time for me to go up in weight because the circuit was fairly easy this time and even though I did faster reps to get a good burn, I know it’s time to go up a few and really maximize my reps! Then as I was leaving there was a sign that said something about the gym being closed after tonight for about 4 days! I think they are doing some construction or something so until then I’ll have to do some strength workouts at the crib! It doesn’t stop just because the club is closed.

Screenshot_20180721-223119.jpg

So my first day of training went really well and while my feet hurt super bad afterward I really think I’ll be o.k doing this job for cardio! It was a busy lunch and that’s great because I was able to keep up and follow someone who was really great at their job. Now I wanna be clear she wasn’t a great trainer by any means but I fell like it was a blessing to have someone to shadow who really knew her stuff! We all know people who are great at something but can’t teach it very well and that’s kinda how she was, she was very nice and pleasant and I learned a lot from following her around. Monday morning I go in a little earlier to do some opening duties to see how everything is set up and how things get going. I’m happy and excited to be able to hang in there and keep active and while I only got like 4k steps in that was in a short couple hours so I’m sure as I work longer I’ll do better and better! The menu is simple enough and to be honest I feel like I could probably take a few tables myself and just wing it now that I have seen it done. As for the foot pain, it was expected and I just need to work thru it because I would really like to stay away from any type of pain meds and stuff. I’m not big on pills at all, to be honest.

On the menu, I have been having some really good stuff! Today for my final meal I had a big juicy flank steak from Moink box and it was heavenly! To add to the amazingness of the meal I had veggies in cheese sauce and it set the steak off right! Yesterday I made a pepperoni and taco casserole that really hit the spot and it didn’t make it for me to save for later because the family smashed it! I barely got a piece myself and I made the damn thing! I can tell you it was absolutely amazing but I had a really small piece.lol.I’ll probably feasts tomorrow and then fast on Monday, thus starting my alternate day fasting protocol all over again. My goal is to never feast on a day that I work so I can have an edge with fat burning as well as keeping myself light on my feet!

That’s it for me guys I’ll post and let you all know how Monday at the job/workout went and what I can do to get better! Have a fabulous rest of the weekend and please be safe!

Here Goes Everything!

Screenshot_20180720-094449.jpg

Good morning and happy Friday homies! The weekend is about to be jumping off and I for one and grateful for the chance to get started with the hunt! The hunt I’m referring too is the hunt for a healthier me! Today is the day I start my journey to in a different direction, a different tool will be added to my arsenal this day! Before I get to that I want to wish you all a wonderful and productive weekend. Hopefully, you will get a few things on your list done but also get your goal list popping this weekend! I’ve already had my cup this morning so I have you are either having your’s or at least have plans for some coffee soon.lol

This will be a pretty short post because today I start my serving job. Now I understand that in the grand scheme of things that this line of work isn’t the end game for me. However, it is the next HUGE step in my journey to wellness and physical triumph and it’s a very big day for me! There are levels to this whole fat loss thing just like everything else in life and serving is the ground floor for the cardio level! The last year I have been learning what I need to be eating and when I need to be eating it also, I have learned how important resistance training is for overall health. I have made a consistent commitment to these areas but I always knew they alone wouldn’t be enough to get me to my goals. Like I’ve said on several occasions they are just tools in my arsenal to take to battle against my fat stores.lol.

Screenshot_20180720-094306.jpg

Today marks the beginning of my training for better mobility, flexibility, and stamina. These are the main reasons I took this line of work in the first place. I couldn’t use the excuse I don’t feel like going to the gym or going to the park to exercising, now my job will be the workout! All I have to do is go to work fasted and work at a good pace and get better and better until I am the very best I can be! It will be very hard, extremely hard because my feet will hurt and chances are my back will feel a little uncomfortable. It will be hot sometimes and there will be situations that challenge my ability to achieve my ultimate goal of being the best in the building! My body will fight against this with every fiber because it was super hard to get this far and I know what the pain was just to lose 100 plus pounds so I know that this step will be even more difficult! My mind and heart have both seen the reward and now my body has been instructed to follow suit.lol

Screenshot_20180720-094215.jpg

I always say that I AM CHANGE! Well, change is hard homies it just is and while I will listen to my body and not just go blindly into that good night, I will not allow myself to come up short. I’ve given too much and sacrificed too many things to fail now! I’m doing it for myself, on this one, I am being completely selfish because this is all about me and what I want for me. My “Y” may include others but the core of this is for me, I want to have zero limitations on what I can do if I simply put in the work. So today I start the next phase.

Screenshot_20180717-053034.jpg

I still plan to utilize the other tools as well, still hitting the gym till December, still fasting on regular bases and absolutely eating whole foods higher in fat and lower in carbs. Today I just add a new element and this one will be the hardest so far because it will test my pain against my determination and what I am willing to do to get what I want! I know it’s right because I’m nervous and I’m not a nervous person but when I stretch myself I get nervous and uncomfortable and that’s where I have to live sometimes to keep adding these tools! Wish me luck! I know God will watch over me as I pursue my next set of goals and I know he will bless every step along the way of all of your paths as well! I better go get ready to work and get grinding!

Have a fabulous day and I love you all! I believe in you no matter what!

FEAR NOT!!

Good morning everyone and welcome to another wonderful Tuesday morning! Today I hope to get a lot of errands and stuff done as well as a good workout and research. The temperature in the area is back down to a reasonable level thank goodness because that heat was sweltering down here for real. I know my blog has been all over the place and not very consistent. We all know life happens and when it does we must adjust, to be the best we can be and that’s what I have been trying to do more and more here lately! The blog starts now!

Screenshot_20180717-052633.jpg

I decided to take the job offer and start serving again just part time so that I can get some good cardio in as well as make a few ends here and there. I’m blessed to be in a position over this last year or so not to have to work and just focus on getting my health on track! I realize not everyone gets to take time off of work to focus on fat loss and self improvement but again I have the best partner in the game and I am thankful for all her love and support! At 44 I’m older and the years of access weight on my joints have taken a toll but I have recently lost a great amount of weight and it’s time to get moving and stretch my limitations. Serving is fast paced and while it will not be the carreer that I see myself doing for the duration of my life I honestly feel like it is a step in the right diretcion as far as physical growth! My focus will be on cardio first, working hard and pushing my body to gain endurance and flexibility. The money is obviously important but on the list of things I’m taking the job for it is 3rd or 4th. I have a background in customer service so I’m fairly confident I’ll be fine as far as connecting with people. The shorter hours will allow me time to continue to focus on my fat loss journey and other goals as well! Wish me luck, I would be lying if I said I wasn’t super nervous!

Yesterday I went to the gym to get a good lift and it felt amazing to be able to do a fasted workout! My energy level was amazing and the gym was fairly empty so that’s a combination for success for sure! I’ve been walking and spending more time on my feet lately than ever before and I think it is helping my foot pain. Like most people I have a weight dominate side and it’s my right side, so the foot on that side gets the grunt of the soreness when I spend a large portion of time on my feet. The best way I can see to get over this pain is to keep pushing foward and losing fat to put less and less stress on those joints and tissue. It really is time for me to start doing squats and lower body lifting to help with my overall body compisition! I have until December to get as much out of this gym memebership as I can before I switch to my home gym idea, so I’m certainly going to be working on getting my lower body in gear! I have oreintation for my new job at 2:30 today so I’ll probably hit the gym earlier than normal or maybe tommorow, I’m not sure what my work schedule will be yet so I’m just guessing at this point!

The alternate day fasting has been going great for me so far, yetsterday I had a really bad hunger swing on my fasting day which is super abnormal for me but I think my body is still adjusting to fasting every other day instead of eating every single day! The scale keeps going the right way and you know I will update you all as I go I just haven’t been weighing myself as much as of lately. With fasting, the weight fluctuates so much because of water and other factors I want to make sure that I give my body enough time between scale jumps to be a true reading and not just a super low number because I haven’t eaten in a few days. It’s taken a great deal of time but I finally feel confident that I have a great amount of tools in my chest against fat loss! I can honestly say that while I have tons of weight to still lose, I am healthier now than I have ever been and I eat and treat my body alot better now! Today is a feast day so I get to eat my 2 meals of high fat low carb foods and I can’t wait to dig in because I have some delicious food in there!

The diet has been a beautiful thing to behold lately. I haven’t been eating any food that I wouldn’t be proud of and the carbs have been low but healthy leafy greens and nuts! My pistachio game has been obese!!! I absolutely love them so I have to pre portion those bad boys out or I’ll eat way to many! What’s been working for me of late is having my first meal be a nice sized meal and then having a green smoothie sometime in the day to get my greens in, then later in the day having my last larger meal. So you could say that I have 2 and a half meals on my feeding days, but I find that I feel satisfied and dont feel the need to stuff myself with food. I’m thinking about checking out adding Collagen into my routine to help with strong joints and bones. I’m still researching if it really works or not but yall know I’m always up on game!

Screenshot_20180717-053034.jpg

Just want to say that while I am nervous and a little scared about starting this new job and thus new cardio challenge, I do understand that growth is always on the other side of fear. Our bodies and minds try to protect us from things but fear is something that isn’t design to stop us but to pause us! I refuse to let fear stop me from pursuing these fat loss goals I have and I refuse to let fear stop me from doing whatever it takes to better my families life as well as my own. We are designed to deal with the other side of fear, it’s not suppose to stop us it’s suppose to pause us long enough to understand what the next thing will do or if we are sure this is what we want to do, but never let fear stop you from getting better! I AM CHANGE and in order to be change we all must stretch our limits and reach for things we thought were impossible, that’s what true living is about!

Decisions, Decisions

20180713_063500.pngIt’s Friday and the weekend is about to begin, I’m very happy to be able to get out of bed early and get a jump on the day this morning! I’ve already brewed coffee, it’s very early and the house is very relaxed and quiet for now so this is the perfect time to get some work done before the family gets up and going. The Fiance’ and kids just got back from a fantastic trip to New York City and I must admit I am glad to have them back home. So let’s get this thing started!

20180712_110615.jpg

Even though they are doing construction at my gym I was still able to get a few workouts in this week, in fact, I will be going again this morning for my last lift of the week. I’m thinking of getting some much-needed cardio in this weekend if the weather isn’t too bad, we are scheduled for a pretty bad heatwave this Saturday so I may be doing my cardio indoors.lol. I have been downloading some really great music lately which always helps my workout performance so I’m super excited about that! I’m working chest and triceps again today with a few shoulder exercises thrown in if time permits. The gym has been somewhat of a boring place for me lately but like I said before, I haven’t gone swimming in awhile and with so much going on here lately I have been less focused on the gym mentally even though my body is going.

On the diet front, the family came home from their trip strapped down with all types of candies and stuff I try to stay away from and I admit I had a few chocolates covered fat loss suppressors when they first got home. I didn’t go overboard however and I have still been making my food in advance to keep my snacking down. My diet of late is mostly my good ole reliable baked chicken but I have also been eating a good amount of broccoli lately. In fact, I baked some pork rind covered chicken last night that I will share with you all in this post as well as some plain baked chicken in butter. The plan is to go to Sam’s Club and grab some more steamed veggies to go with my chicken this week along with some pistachios and turkey bacon! Of course, no matter if I’m fasting or not I always have my morning coffee so I will be grabbing a few bags of whole bean coffee to stock up the bean jar! Nothing new here this week as far as food because with all the things going on I chose to keep it simple and what I know will be delicious and easy.

As you know I am a big believer in fasting and I have been doing various fasting protocols lately. This week I will be doing alternate day fasting which is by far the most, simple fasting there is in my opinion! I simply eat one day followed by a full day of fasting and repeat.I’ll probably do this for a month to give it enough time to see results and then play around with it depending on my fat loss results. I’m finding it easier and easier to tell the difference between being hungry or thirsty and it has really been a blessing to me. I try to keep well-hydrated no matter what so if I’m drinking a ton of water and I’m hungry, I know it’s the real deal and it’s time to feast! Actually, I feel much better in a fasted state than I do after eating lately and that’s just mind-blowing to me. There truly is something to this fasting thing and I wish everyone who reads this to try it out for themselves it may be the game-changer your looking for.

Recently I have been dealing with a really awesome job opportunity and while I am happy to be given this chance I feel like I am struggling with taking it. My gut tells me there is something just not right about the situation for me but the money would come in handy and the exercise on the job would really help me to shed body fat. The big thing is I don’t, nor have I ever truly wanted to work for anyone else. Most of my life I have and I have had some awesome jobs but while doing those jobs I always thought I wanted to do something I loved to do every day as my job! This offer is a blessing and I will probably take it but I’m doing so just to speed up my move to the west coast and back to the side of the country I love the most.  It’s something that can be long-term if I so desire but isn’t anything I would want to do for the remainder of my working life. I have a few days to decide if I want the job so that’s really cool and I have always been one to be thankful for any blessings coming my way as I am about this one. Like my youngest son always say’s “Living Is Work!”

Have a great day and a fantastic weekend and please stay safe

YouTube?

20180709_134518.jpg

Good Morning everyone and it seems like it’s been forever! I only posted once last week and I apologize for that I have been absolutely lazy when it comes to the writing of any kind! My life has been the definition of chill mode lately and I’m completely o.k with that. It’s always important to take a little break from the routine and reset your goals and vision to make sure things are going in the right direction. I’ve had the house to myself for a week because the family is on a trip and I have taken this time to do little but read and exercise and fast.lol. It’s been pretty great but I need to get back to my routine and even though the family doesn’t touch down till tomorrow I need to get a jump on things.

The gym was great yesterday, they are remodeling the front lobby so it’s a little crazy to get in and out but hey change is always a pain! My chest and triceps are feeling really good after that long workout and I can’t wait to get back today for my back, biceps and shoulders today. The one thing I have not been doing this week is my walks in the park and that’s just because I have been lazy as hell no front. I think I need to hit the pool and change it up because I’m obviously getting bored with my cardio again. It’s just a matter of energy and focusing on what will keep me going to the gym! I have decided that when my membership is up in December I will not be going to the gym anymore. I’ve been researching and I have found that with my own equipment I can get just as good a workout and not spend the money on a monthly bases. I’ve always wanted my own home gym anyway because of the benefit to the whole family and when we move to the west coast I can simply take it all with me. Let’s hope my plan comes together.lol

The diet has been really good since I have been doing a ton of fasting and low carb. The only problem I am having now is when I do longer fasts I’m not sure what to do when it’s over. For instance, in June I fasted a ton but when the long fasts were over it felt like my daily fasting just wasn’t as effective and it didn’t motivate me as much. When you go for 3 or 5 days without food your body starts to get used to it and you are just not as hungry when you aren’t fasting. Now I know this sounds great because the less you eat then you will lose weight right? Well, that’s totally wrong, if you don’t eat on a regular base your body just adjusts and your base metabolic rate will just go down to match the fact it’s getting fewer calories. So it’s very important to eat well on the feasting days to keep my metabolism at a high rate. I’m not talking junk I’m talking fresh whole unprocessed foods but it’s still important to eat a good amount until I am full so my body gets the message I’m not trying to starve it but when the hunger goes down it’s actually hard to remember to eat! Now I’m an obese man and that seems crazy to me but it’s true and I notice if I don’t eat enough my fat loss slows way up, so it’s a delicate process that I’m trying to a handle on. I love fasting and my body just feels so much better after fasting for say 24 hours or so and I’m not giving it up but I may have to try a different fasting regiment and not so many extended(over 2 days) fasts. I have however figured out how to break my fast and I will post my delicious steak I made yesterday from my Moink box order, it was amazing and Costcos always has an abundance of steamable veggies for the sides!

Lately, I have been really thinking of starting a youtube channel because I don’t feel like there is enough information for obese people my size. As you know a lot of the information about fasting and fitness don’t typically apply to people who are obese so we seem to be kinda caught in the middle. My process has been trying to find a focus of the channel because I would rather it focus more on one topic than a huge spectrum of them. Hopefully, soon I will be in a position to really get started because the obesity issue is so very scary and I would like to be of service to those who struggle like I do with it. Maybe I can figure out a way to just post information that may be useful to people and not focus on just my personal story if any of you have any thoughts I would love to hear from you!

That’s it for me and I will certainly post more often than once a week.lol. As always I am thankful for all of you and am here if anyone needs anything!

Fall Forward

20180702_072939.pngWell good morning everyone and welcome to another magic and fun-filled Monday morning! You all know how much I love the beginning of the week! I apologize for being away for several days but I have been very busy with life and everything and I haven’t been allowing myself time to write enough. I hope you all have been doing well and enjoying your journey! I’ve got some delicious dark roast in my favorite cup and I’m ready and eager so let’s get this underway!

Last week I think I went to the gym 1 time I was so busy! The kids and my fiance’ are headed to New York on a trip and with all of the planning and excitement going on around here, it’s been crazy but fun. They will only be gone about a week but because of that, we all have been focusing on spending as much time as possible hanging out and having fun together! Still, I really hate the fact I didn’t get to the gym more but it happens sometimes and the trade-off was well worth it to me. Today I have a busy day as well but I could no longer be absent from my blog and all my friends that  I touch bases with on this platform. Although it will be a very humid day I will definitely make it to the gym today to get my week started off right! I have chest and triceps today so hopefully, I will have a long hard workout before I continue on with all of the errands that need to be done today! I can’t front I really miss the gym and my body is so used to being sore and pushed that I think my muscles may be a little weak but we shall see this afternoon!

My diet has stayed consistent and healthy thank goodness because not going to the gym my eating has really stopped me from taking a step back in my fat loss journey. I haven’t been perfect but I am super low carb and my Keto has been on point as of late. I’ve even been finding time to have a glass or 2 of wine on a regular base and it truly has helped my sleep as well as my diet! I have been having a great number of healthy fats with my coffee as well as my smoothies and even though I can do better my meals have been well balanced even though I haven’t been counting calories as much. My main focus has been on eating healthy whole foods and trying to keep away from any foods that have labels if at all possible. Not that they are all bad it’s just because there is such a large misrepresentation between what a food label says and what that truly means and for me I would rather take my chances with less processed foods. I recently ordered another Moink box and I’m really loving the grass-fed meats that come in each box! Not only is it delicious but there is such a variety to chose from that’s why this last box I order a couple of servings of large salmon and I can’t wait to try them! I have been buying spinach in a bag lately because for some reason my local stores produce hasn’t been looking very fresh like they normally do. Anyway, I have been making some great new dishes with cheese such as cheese wrapped ground beef and pork rind nachos and they have really hit the spot!

My fasting has been going really well however I am trying to figure out my routine at the moment. I love the 3 to 5 day extended fasts and they are amazing for fat loss I’m just trying not to eat too much food when I break my fast, which I have noticed I have been doing. It’s been Keto type foods but still, I feel like I can’t get enough when I finally do eat so I’ve been working on having an after fasting meal plan ready to make the day before I break my fasts. It’s amazing how fasting makes me feel when I’m out and about, I just feel so light on my feet with less food in my system and of course I feel thinner and more fit.lol

Fat loss can be so damn challenging and certainly, it can test your willpower but it’s important to know that if you are truly making lifestyle choices there will be times when you stumble. It’s not about making an excuse it’s about understanding that setbacks are part of the journey and while frustrating, they come for a reason and when they do come it’s important to recognize it and get your ass up! You will certainly get knocked done along the way but the amount of time it takes for you to get back up will determine how much harder your journey will be! Just remember that it’s your life and you are in charge! The whole process starts and ends with what you are and what you wish to become and no one can understand just what you are going thru better than you. Just keep in mind that this journey requires you to be your own biggest fan! Take time to really appreciate what you have done and celebrate every single victory no matter how small, that way you enjoy not only the good times but the process! This process of health and well being is forever and once we understand that, then we realize that all we have to do is keep getting up, keep moving forward! If you never pay attention to anything in this blog pay attention to this: FALL IN LOVE WITH YOURSELF! It’s the greatest love outside of gods love there is in my opinion and it makes all other love possible! I believe in you!

Have a great week and go compete and keep getting up!
